photo #c - Yellow lilies - (intensity)
-
What is intensity?
-
Why do we need to control intensity?
-
If there is no intensity control, what occurs?
-
How would you describe the intensities of the flowers
above?
-
How would you control the intensities of the darker
values?
-
How does light affect intensity?
-
What options do we have in this particular situation?
-
Suggest what pigments we might try and why?
Are there painting methods we might use to create
changes in value and intensities besides mixing?

Working with yellow
subjects is challenging - but there are some simple
steps we can take to understand them better. One is
understanding the properties of value and intensity.
For any successful 3
dimensional rendering of a subject - we must consider
'value' Value means the lightness or darkness of colour.
With correct value placement we are able to create the
form
of the object.
