what some participants had to say....
Reviews from Traditions Education TT course participants
Rae Pawlowski - Teacher – Maple Ridge, B.C. “I am still on a
"high" after completing a five-day teacher’s seminar on the
Traditions Teaching system. Each lesson includes the history of
the genre or style, and much of this material was new to the
teachers in the course. Each lesson is methodically linked to
each other building and reinforcing skills. We were the first
group of teachers to work through the program and we could not
come up with a skill or technique that was missed. Marketing
discussion took place during the sessions, but I have concluded
that the program will sell itself. I was teaching a class a
couple of days after the seminar and telling them various things
about the program. Finally one student blurted out, "Sign me up
now!" Everyone in the class wanted in! I suggested a fast track
program as they were seasoned painters, but they want the
program from beginning to end. They claim they have too many
holes in their knowledge. This substantiates David Jansen's
theory that our students are craving an educational program
instead of project-based learning where parallel skills are
taught with no advancement in knowledge. I think he is right.”
Joan Nicholls - Teacher - Through the Garden Gate, Surrey, B.C

for this program and what a terrible shame that would have been.
I'm so glad my husband encouraged me to take it. Well I've
enjoyed it so very much, everything about it. Neadeen is a
wonderful presenter; her thorough explanations of techniques and
her use of simple analogies helped us all to understand the
concepts being presented. Her great sense of humor too kept the
classes lively and enjoyable even though the days were long.
From all the information, written material, line drawings in two
sizes and all the color worksheets I can see just how much work
has gone into this program and I congratulate each of the group
who has put so much work into it. I can hardly wait to go
through each lesson and let it sink in and then paint the sample
pieces. The histories at the start of each lesson are very
interesting, and give one a greater appreciation for the design.
Learning to mix paints was quite a liberating experience today
and with the color theory that we learned at the beginning of
the seminar and the reinforcement of that theory all the way
along during the seminar, it was understandable now and
literally liberating. I must admit I would shy away from having
to mix colors before and would reach for a bottle mix if I
could. Won't be doing that now!! I wish all our teachers could
experience this program, as I know they would benefit from it
and even more importantly our students would be the real winners
as all the teachers would be on the same page. I've been
teaching for 8 years now and I look forward to sharing what I've
learned in the years ahead"

"In my thirty years as an art teacher I can honestly say that
the JansenART Traditions Educational Program is the finest I've
ever been involved with. The modular lessons are easy to
understand. All the information is laid out in an easy to
understand format. I would have no hesitation in recommending
this system to others."

"As a Design Artist and Teacher attending the Traditions Teacher
Seminar has enabled me to teach a very comprehensive study on
Decorative Painting. The research has been done and compiled
into a text that I shall now call my Bible. This program has
left no stone unturned! It is all there for Teachers of all
levels to explore with their students. I applaud the insight of
David Jansen, his Heritage teachers, and all those who have
spent endless hours working on this project. Decorative Art
Teachers and students have been asking for this for years! Some
one listened. I am proud to be a part of this program.
Anne Livingston - Teacher - Greengables Gallery and Art School -

"The program addresses the state of our industry and the value
of the program that teaches the fine art of decorative painting.
The substance! The qualifications of this instructor and the
clarity of her teaching, I feel blessed to have been here and
this seminar is the start of my new future!"
Linda Godard - Teacher - Linda's Decorative Art Studio -
Armstrong. B.C.
"Education and the quality of the designs and the thorough and
complete care that was taken to put the program together."

"The education was fantastic, every teacher would benefit from
this seminar."
Sandra Duffus - personal study - Delta. B.C.
"The color theory for this course opened doors for me. I have
always had trouble using the color specified and the rigidity of
certain projects. The histories and the step-by-step advancement
of each class or session, and finally getting a great grounding
in color theory plus a sense of accomplishment that I can
actually paint and be pleased within myself."
Maureen Anderson - personal study to prepare to teach - Mission
- B.C.
"The flow from one lesson to the next and the knowledge of
whether the student is ready to move forward or should practice
a little more before moving on, and the history is fabulous
also."
Kim Johnston Leftovers Studio, Princeton – teacher, BC
