Studio 'open classes' resume September 11 2007

Weekly classes are 'open' classes which implement a systematic teaching and learning system. This style of teaching provides a more personalized method for advancement through a program of study, whereby the student is provided with individualized attention and each student advances according to their own pace.

Local Classes at the studio are offered in 12 week blocks ~ One 4 hr. session per week for 12 weeks. Students may choose either day or evening sessions.  As stated above, these classes are taught in an 'open' class format - that is to say, these are self directed classes, each student works at their own pace and chooses their individual subjects. Class size is usually limited to 12 students which allows for comfortable space and hands on instruction. From time to time, the group as a whole will decide on a particular theme, subject, or theory topic, and everyone participates in this. If one or two students decide to opt out of this joint effort, they are still able to work independently.

There are many benefits to this form of classroom format; students are exposed to several styles of painting and different subjects. As each student receives instruction, others learn through observation and symbiosis. Students have said that this format allows them to be individual artist, developing their own style of painting while at the same time receiving instruction and guidance.

There are 3 Seasonal Sessions per year - Feb-April, May-July, Sept-Dec. Spaces are reserved from season to season, because of the popularity of these classes, students are advised to confirm before the following sessions begins.

Tuesday day sessions 10a.m - 2p.m
Tuesday evening session 6.30p.m. - 10.30p.m.
Thursday day session 10a.m. - 2p.m.
Thursday evening session 6.30p.m. - 9.30p.m. (Shorter class time)

Class fees are due in full, upon registration.
Class fees per 12 ~  week session.
